me how to write it.

Yaming: It's yue. It means “moon”.
Peter: It's nice! I like watching you write like that. But it looks difficult.
Yaming: Well, the first step is always the hardest. When I started to do calligraphy, I spent hours practising single strokes.
Peter: I know how that feels! My dad's teaching me to play the guitar. It's difficult, but he always encourages me not to give up.

difficult Give an example.
It means that when you start to learn or do something new, the first part is always the hardest. When you begin a new skill or task, you have to learn the basic things and get over the first problems, which is often harder than the later parts.
I usually feel proud. For example, when I first learned to ride a bike, I kept falling down and it was really hard, but after weeks of practice, I finally rode it by myself. I felt so proud of myself and glad that I didn’t stop trying.
