Step 1 Warm-up(10mins)
T: Good afternoon, class! Nice to meet you! Before our class,Let’s review the last lesson.
First words ,secondly sentences.
(Justification:This step will help ss review the last lesson .)
Step 2 Pre-listening(5mins)
Step 1:T show some pictures about the dialogue. And let Ss guess the story.
T:Where are they?
S1:They maybe in the London Marathon.
T:Are there many people here?
S2: Yes,there are.
T:Do you know anyone here?
S3: Yes, I know Paul.

(Justification:This step will lead in the key words help ss understand the dialogue.)
Step 3 While-listening(10mins)
T Show some questions on the computer screen. Think about these questions while
listening. Listen to the record twice or three times.
◎Is the note Jack's?
◎Is the note Daisy's?
◎Whose note is this?
◎Whose handwriting is it?
◎Is the date on the list Tuesday,17th April?
Watch the video and answer again.
◎What does the note look like?
◎What day is the 'to-do' list for?
◎Is Paul's training run at 4 o'clock?
◎When dose Paul pick Claire up from college?
(Justification:This step will both improve the students’ listening and speaking abilities.)
Step 4 Post-listening (20mins)
New words and expressions.First let ss pronounce the new words themselves.
And then correct the mistakes.
(Justification:This step will improve the students’ spelling ability.)
Step 5 Practise (5mins)
T ask ss to do a fast-reaction about the new words.
(Justification:This step will help to check whether the ss grasp the key words better.)
Step 6 Intensive reading and Grammar (35mins)
T Read the dialogue again and ask the Ss to underline the difficult words and phrase. In order to practise their ability to think, the teacher will encourage them to analyse the text by themselves first and then give them explanations.
(Justification:This step will improve the students’ reading ability.)
Grammar
① strange
①表示“陌生的”,指本身虽属正常,但对某人来说却是不熟悉的、陌生的;
Never accept lifts from strange men.千万别搭陌生男人的车。
It's a strange city. 这是一个陌生的城市。
②表示”奇怪的,奇异的“,指本身就与众不同
A strange thing happened this morning.今天上午发生了一件怪事。
That's strange ─the front door's open. 怪事——正门开着。
常见短语:
sb be strange to sth 对…不习惯, 生疏
He is still strange to the job.他还不太习惯这工作。
sth be strange to sb 对某人来说是陌生的,未见过〔听过〕的
Everything here is strange to him.这里的一切对他来说都是陌生的。
feel strange 感觉不自在;感觉不舒服
She felt strange sitting at her father's desk.
It was terribly hot and I started to feel strange.

③物主代词
1.定义:表示所有关系的代词叫做物主代词。
物主代词有人称和数的变化。
2.分类:物主代词分为形容词性物主代词和名词性物主代词。
3.用法
1)形容词性物主代词起形容词的作用,用在名词前,译为“……的”,
不能单独使用。
例如:What’s your name? 你的名字是什么?
This is my book. 这是我的书。
2)名词性物主代词有着名词性质的物主代词,
相当于形容词性物主代词+名词 ,可以单独使用。
例:Look at the two pencils. The red one is yours and the blue one is mine.
看那两支铅笔,红的是你的,蓝的是我的。
He likes my pen. He doesn’t like hers. 他喜欢我的钢笔。不喜欢她的。
(Justification:This step will help ss have a better understanding of key grammar.)
Step 7 Summary and homework(5mins)
Summary: Do the summary together with the students. Let them know what they have learned in this lesson.
Homework:
(1)Copy the new words five times
(2)Read the text at least three days.
(Justification:Homework is the extension of class and helps them to enhance what they have learned in this class.)

T should design more interesting teaching procedures to attract all the students to involve the lesson.
